Opportunities
Parent Playgroup Facilitators

Parents who have been through our Playgroup Facilitator Training and have successfully completed an application packet including a CORI (Criminal Records Check) may have the opportunity to become playgroup facilitators.

Several of our current playgroups are run by parents, and we are always looking for more parents to get involved in this way. Playgroup facilitators have their own playgroups (several parents can share the responsibility) that they set up and facilitate.

Family Net offers training, technical assistance, pays for snacks and helps to advertise the group in our newsletter.

Playgroup Assistants

Family Net would like to have Parent Playgroup Assistants for all of our playgroups.

Playgroup Assistants help us to set up for playgroups, help us to greet parents and children, help with snack time and help clean up playgroups.

Clothing Exchange

The Clothing Exchange is open Monday-Friday 11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

It is an opportunity for parents to come to the Clothing Exchange room and look through and take home used children's clothing.

Volunteers help to go through the items for condition and put out the clothes on the racks according to size.

Newsletter Articles

We are always looking for parents to help us write articles for the monthly Family Net newsletter.

We have a book review section in which we have parents write a review of a parenting book.

We are also interested in having parents share interesting ideas of things to do with young children in this area, fun activities, healthy recipes, and parents tips that have worked for them.

If you have anything to submit to our newsletter please e-mail it to Mary Jo at mbelanger@ccberkshire.org or call us a 664-4821.
