Playgroups
Family Net playgroups are free and are offered at a variety of locations throughout Northern Berkshire County for children ages birth to 7 years old.
Playgroups are a place where parents and children have opportunities to play, meet new friends and network with others. At playgroups, young children are introduced to a variety of play experiences and social interactions which foster age appropriate development and prepare them for the preschool experience.
Parent Education Opportunities
Family Net offers parent education seminars on relevant parenting issues throughout the year. The parenting seminars are free of charge and most have free child care for registered families.
Parenting Support Groups
Support groups are formed on the basis of parent needs. In the past we have offered the Parenting Journey curriculum and have offered a weekly New Parent Support Group. Click the Newsletter link to see what is going on this month.
Lending Library
Family Net has a parent resource library with a large selection of parenting books and videos. It also contains children's books and computer software. The library is free and located in the Family Net office in the Haskins Community Center on State Street in North Adams. Items can be taken out for up to one month.
Referrals to Local Agencies that Serve Parents
Family Net collaborates with local human service agencies and can provide referrals to programs that can assist with mental health, medical, child care, education and other areas where parents need services.
Family Net Clothing Exchange
The Clothing Exchange is a free program and is open Monday through Friday 11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. It features gently used (often like new) children's clothing, sizes birth to 7. Families are welcome to come and take clothes for their children and donate when possible.
Parent Support Specialist
The Parent Support Specialist can help parents connect with services they need in the community. Help with transportation to appointments and filling out paperwork is available. |
